5 Tips to Schedule Content

We all get to the point where we run out of ideas and have nothing left in our brains to schedule. Friend, if you’re at that point, you’re in good company! That’s why we’ve put these tips together to help you through this rough time.

1. Repurpose old content.

Old content is the best place to go first. You wrote it once because it was meaningful, helpful, and perfect for your target audience. Who says you can’t bring it back? No one, that’s who.

More than likely, you have new followers and they might not have seen the original post. If you’re feeling stuck or low on inspiration, it’s a great time to redress your content and repost. If it was helpful to someone back then, it’ll be helpful again today!

Plus, you know that repetition only helps to reinforce ideas. Say something once and it’s easy for people to forget it. Say it two, three, four times and it starts to stick. Repurposing old content helps to reinforce whatever point you’re trying to make.

2. Schedule time.

If you’re anything like me, it’s hard to think of something on the fly, especially something catchy or trendy. When you mark time on your calendar to schedule content, you take the pressure off of yourself. If it’s on your calendar, you’re also less likely to keep putting it off.

3. See what else is going on.

Let me be very clear here: DO NOT COPY SOMEONE ELSE. It’s important not to duplicate someone else’s work, especially if you’re not going to credit them. Plagiarism is a real thing and we don’t condone it at all.

That being said, you should definitely know what other people in your market are doing. You will have thoughts and an opinion whether you agree with them or not, and you can put your own spin on the same idea. For instance, if people are talking about new trends in your industry, you could discuss those trends and your recommendations.

Whatever the topic, make it yours! Draw inspiration from someone else and add something that helps your audience link it back to you. This helps to make your audience see you as an expert in your field, which is always a bonus.

4. Share something personal.

Clueless on what to post next? Take a break from selling and education, and introduce yourself. This is really great, especially if you don’t regularly show your face or personality. People love to know the face behind the page. It helps to add authenticity to your brand and allows people to connect with a human vs a screen.

What’s the best way to do this?

  • Don’t include anything about your work.
  • Choose a location or background that means something to you.
  • Have someone else take the photo so it’s not a selfie.
  • Add something to the caption that is a fun fact about yourself, something that people can relate to.

Let people see you, the REAL you, even if for just one post.

5. Change your medium.

Do you normally post to your feed? Try changing it up! Sometimes it can benefit your creativity to mix up! You can:

  • Make some stories and post to multiple platforms that way.
  • Record some reels. Choose a trending audio file and make something that is relevant to your brand.
  • Record audio and place it over a graphic. Podcasts are IN guys, you can use a pseudo version of it with audio files.

The idea is to just do something different and see what happens.
